Details

bulletMeet at 7:00 a.m., start walking at 7:15 a.m.
bulletMeeting place: Memorial Park in Cupertino, which is at the corner of Stevens Creek Blvd. & Mary Ave (across from De Anza College).  Although there is parking at Memorial Park, we encourage you to carpool, and/or park on adjacent side streets (to leave room for other families going to the park later in the day).
bulletWe will bring copies of the map.
bulletTotal mileage: 18 miles
bulletThis is a 3-segment walk, with each segment being 6 miles. We will have sweep vehicles available to get you back to the start, if you don't want to walk the whole route (or if you have a time constraint).
bulletBring a bottle of water. At both 6 and 12 miles, we will have a "real" pit-stop sponsored by the Cheerios, so snacks and water will be available mid-walk (fruit, Luna bars, Grandma Cheerio's famous oatmeal cookies, stuff like that).
bulletBe prepared for whatever the weather may bring: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves, a windbreaker or jacket or poncho if it's raining.
bulletBring identification, including an emergency contact phone number, your medical insurance card, and something with your blood type noted on it.
bulletNO, we don't cancel if it's raining.
bulletYES, there will be bathrooms available on this route.
bulletREMINDERS: Sorry, but the rules say we can't allow dogs, strollers or children under age 17. Thanks for understanding!
bulletCheerio Marcia is our contact point for this walk, so PLEASE RSVP to her, either by e-mail (marcia_babiak@yahoo.com) or call 650-537-0054 . It's important that we know how many people will be attending, so that we can be prepared. Also, if there is a last-minute change, we would like to be able to contact you.

Directions to the Meeting Point

85 to Stevens Creek Blvd (follow signs to De Anza College). If you are coming from the south, you will turn right onto Stevens Creek. If you are coming from the north, you will turn left onto Stevens Creek. The park is across the street from De Anza. From Stevens Creek, turn left at Mary (traffic light, Shane Co. on your left). Then there is a parking lot entrance immediately on your right. There is some parking in this lot, but we would hate to fill it up entirely with walkers, and have people unable to park when they come later in the day. You can also park on the street, or in the shopping center --  we'll be out there directing traffic. As always, carpooling is advised!

Map

Starting point is at the red star. We will actually meet in the parking lot which is just above the second "v" in "Stevens Creek Blvd."
