Details

bulletMeet at 7:45 a.m., start walking at 8:00 a.m.
bulletMeeting place: Heritage Oaks Park in Los Altos, which is at the corner of Portland Avenue & McKenzie. There is limited parking, so please try to carpool.
bulletWe will bring copies of the map.
bulletThis is a figure-8 walk, so you can walk the first 6.5-mile loop and get back to our starting point - and your car - if you choose to stop there, or have a time constraint. Those who wish to continue will go on a different 8.3-mile loop, and return to the starting point. The total walk will be 14.8 miles.
bulletBring a bottle of water. We will have a "real" pit-stop (a la the actual 3-Day!), sponsored by the Cheerios, so snacks and water will be available mid-walk (fruit, luna bars, stuff like that).
bulletBe prepared for whatever the weather may bring: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves, a windbreaker or jacket or poncho if it's raining.
bulletBring identification, including an emergency contact phone number, your medical insurance card, and something with your blood type noted on it.
bulletNO, we don't cancel if it's raining.
bulletYES, there are bathrooms on this route.
bulletREMINDERS: Sorry, but the rules say we can't allow dogs, strollers or children under age 17. Thanks for understanding!
bulletLisa is our contact point for this walk, so PLEASE RSVP to her, either by e-mail (lisastambaugh@hotmail.com) or call 510-604-5717. It's important that we know how many people will be attending, so that we can be prepared. Also, if there is a last-minute change, we would like to be able to contact you.

Directions to the Meeting Point

From 237, going toward Mountain View, stay on 237 after it crosses El Camino and becomes Grant Ave. Turn right on Portland, and make a left on McKenzie.
